    Biography

Justin David Meacham (born February 29, 1980 in Glendale, California) also known as Justin Sane is the former bassist of bands Avenged Sevenfold, Suburban Legends, and Pinkly Smooth. He retains the same stage name as Justin Geever of Anti-Flag.
Earky years Justin Meacham attended Huntington Beach High School in Huntington Beach, California. In 2000, a wrong diagnosis by a psychiatrist and the resulting prescription of an SSRI anti-depressant triggered mania, a severe side effect of anti-depressants that can occur when taken by people with a family history of bipolar disorder. After leaving Suburban Legends in 2000, Justin overdosed on dextromethorphan, as a suicide attempt, and ended up in a psychiatric hospital in which he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Soon after being released from the hospital Justin was asked to join Avenged Sevenfold, earning the stage name Justin Sane. Justin replaced the bands former bassist Matt Wendt.

    Avenged Sevenfold: (2000-2001)

During his time with Avenged Sevenfold, Meacham played on both the 2001 Warped Tour and the 2002 Warped Tour. While the band was not touring, they made their way into the studio. In 2000, the band produced a demo of what would later be their second album, the demo entitled, Waking The Fallen Demo. As a follow up to this, in 2001, Justin was featured playing Bass and Piano on the album Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. Although his problems worsened, he continued to play bass for the band and was featured on the Warmness on the Soul. On the Ep, a video for Warmness on the Soul could be viewed, which featured Justin playing bass in the video while drinking, and hanging out with band. Soon after this video was made and released to the public, Justin was released from his contracted with the band, because of a suicide attempt he made. Meacham left the band on good terms.
Justin was featured on City of Evil playing piano in a few of the songs on the album.
He has not been publicly heard from since, and his current whereabouts are unknown.

    Current activities

Derek Eglit has since formed the heavy metal group Railroad to Alaska, in which Meacham has made several live guest appearances on keyboards.

Matthew Sanders, the lead singer for Avenged Sevenfold known as M. Shadows, claimed that he walked in on the band's former bass player Justin Sane as he was trying to commit suicide with cough syrup. Justin Sane was supposedely suffering from Bipolar Disorder and went to a mental hospital for a while. When he returned, the band (mainly M. Shadows) were concerned about Justin's new behavior. In a "Take Action Tour" magazine when asked about Justin, Shadows said: "He went to mental institution for quite a few months, and when he got out, it was like he was on acid all the time. Eventually, we had to let him go because it was too much."
